About the Book
Is there more to nature than meets the eye? How is our spiritual life like a baby kangaroo? How can a favorite stuffed animal remind us of God’s love for us? Readers will find the answers to these questions and discover much more as they get a “new view” of their Christian faith and God’s wonderful world of animals through this unique family devotional book. Each 6 page chapter is easy to read and provides encouragement for Christian living through fun facts, and inspirational reading and hands-on activities. Kids ages 6-10 will like reading on their own and families can enjoy it together as well. It’s also a valuable tool for home schooling parents or those who serve in children’s ministries.
Each chapter of Creation Inspirations contains three sections. The first includes fun facts about the featured animal, the second is the New View which is the devotion and Bible verse, and the third is an activity (most do not use the internet/devices and involve inexpensive supplies you may already have on hand).
Here is a sample New View from the Giant Panda chapter:
Have you ever noticed that it’s easy to recognize and identify most black and white animals? Zebras, skunks, and of course giant pandas, aren’t confused with other animals too often, if ever. You don’t look at a panda and wonder if it might be a grizzly bear instead; whenever you see one, you know what it is.
Did you know that God wants Christians to be like giant pandas? When we interact with other people, He wants them to clearly know who and what we are – His children.
Can other people look at us and know that we’re Christian? Sometimes they can, when we wear clothes or jewelry that have Christian symbols like a cross, and that’s good, but God wants more.
He wants people to be able to tell we’re Christians by how we talk, how we act, and how we treat others. For example, if everyone around us is picking on a classmate, we need to say something nice, or not participate at all. If it’s time to pick a movie or a video game, our choices can let people know we are trying to follow God’s word, too.
The next time you see a giant panda:
Remember how easy it is to recognize them and how God wants it to be just as easy for people to know we’re His children.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
